Notice to Alert the Public of NIDA’s Career Development Award Salary Limits
Purpose
The purpose of this Guide Notice is to notify the public that NIDA has increased salary limits for K01, K25, and K99 Notices of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs).
Background
In May 2024, NIH re-issued the parent K01, K25, and K99 NOFOs. For these re-issued NOFOs, NIDA increased the salary support up to $100,000, making these limits equivalent with the current K08 and K23 announcements. This change is reflected in the NIDA entry of the Table of IC-Specific Information, Requirements for each corresponding NOFO.
Implementation
Effective with new (Type 1) K01, K25, and K99 applications due on June 12, 2024, and subsequently, several NIH Institutes and Centers (ICs) will increase the contribution toward the K awardee’s salary support for the requested effort (e.g., nine person months, equivalent to 75% full-time professional effort devoted to research and career development) to a base level of $100,000.
